Celem kształcenia na kierunku prawo kanoniczne jest zdobycie wiedzy z zakresu prawa kościelnego oraz podstawowe wykształcenie z zakresu polskiego prawa świeckiego. Na kierunku dostępne są dwie specjalności, wśród nich opisywana tutaj specjalizacja kanoniczno-cywilna.

Po ukończeniu studiów absolwent może podjąć pracę w sądach i instytucjach kościelnych, kancelariach prawnych,urzędach administracji publicznej, organizacjach pozarządowych. Absolwenci prawa kanonicznego są poszukiwani i cenieni na rynku pracy. Nabyte kwalifikacje, umiejętności i zdobyta wiedza pozwalają im na prowadzenie spraw z zakresu prawa państwowego i kościelnego, w tym m.in. procesów o stwierdzenie nieważności małżeństwa w sądach kościelnych.

Studenci mogą aktywnie działać w kołach naukowych na Wydziale oraz zdobywać doświadczenie prawnicze podczas praktyk w Studenckiej Poradni Prawnej Wydziału Prawa Kanonicznego oraz w sądach kościelnych.

Zajęcia odbywają się w małych grupach, co umożliwia studentom najlepszy kontakt z profesorami.

Poziom kształcenia: studia jednolite magisterskie

Specjalności: kanoniczno–cywilna oraz administracyjno–sądowa (kanoniczna).

Learning outcomes for the field of Canon Law approved by Resolution No. 50/2015 of the Senate of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw of 23.04.2015 on determining the learning outcomes for the field of canon law studies - uniform master's studies at the Faculty of Canon Law for students starting their studies from the 2015/2016 academic year.
The study program was determined by the Resolution of the Faculty Council No. 4.1. / V / 2015 of 12nd May 2015.
