The aim of the course is to practice the ability to interpret social phenomena observed on a daily basis in the light of contemporary theories developed on the basis of social psychology, and to familiarize students with the methods of research planning and research methods used in social psychology.

Knowledge:
1. Has knowledge of the subject of research and methods used in social psychology.
2. Has knowledge of the rules governing social perception, knows the basic distortions in perception of other people and his own person, knows theories explaining the formation of these distortions.
3. Knows theories explaining the emergence of social prejudices.
4. Has knowledge of interpersonal attractiveness and the possibility of influencing one's own attractiveness through self-presentation.
Skills:
6. The student can read and understand literature on social psychology.
7. The student is able to critically assess the meaning of psychological research, referring to the methodology of this research and cultural conditions.
8. Is able to pose research questions and answer them by referring to scientific knowledge.

Description of ECTS (4 points):
Participation in classes: 32 h

very good (5) - the student is very well versed in psychological theories regarding social functioning, very well analyzes specific behaviors in the context of specific psychological theories, very well selects and uses research tools in social psychology research
good (4) - the student is well versed in psychological theories regarding social functioning, well analyzes specific behaviors in the context of specific psychological theories, well selects and uses research tools in social psychology research
satisfactory (3) - the student is poorly versed in psychological theories regarding social functioning, poorly analyzes specific behaviors in the context of specific psychological theories, poorly selects and uses research tools in social psychology research
unsatisfactory rating (2) - the student does not know psychological theories regarding social functioning, he is not able to analyze behavior in the context of specific psychological theories, he misses and misuses research tools in social psychology research
