Psychology of individual differences WF-ZPS-N-PI
The course includes lectures and exercises. In lectures, students gain knowledge of the theories of general, social and emotional intelligence, as well as the concepts of cognitive styles and thinking styles. The issue of wisdom as a subject of psychological research and its determinants is also discussed. In the exercises, they learn about various intelligence tests and how to use them for diagnostic purposes.

Knowledge:
1) Identifies basic concepts of intellectual structure (PS_W07).

4) Distinguishes between basic types of approaches to intellectual diagnosis (PS_W08).

Skills:
1) Is able to conduct research using selected intelligence tests (PS_U01).
2) Is able to interpret the results (PS_U03).

Assessment criteria
Written exam. A score of 60% required for a grade of sufficient (3.0).

- for a grade of 5 (excellent): very well identifies the basic concepts of the structure of the intellect and new concepts of intelligence, understands the importance of intelligence in human functioning, distinguishes between basic types of approaches to the diagnosis of the intellect, knows basic intelligence tests, and understands the ethical and legal aspects of using tests.
- for a grade of 4 (good): identifies basic concepts of the structure of intellect and new concepts of intelligence well, understands the importance of intelligence in human functioning, distinguishes between basic types of approaches to the diagnosis of intellect, knows basic intelligence tests, and understands the ethical and legal aspects of using tests.
- grade 3 (satisfactory): poorly identifies basic concepts of the structure of intellect and new concepts of intelligence, poorly understands the importance of intelligence in human functioning, does not properly distinguish between basic types of approaches to the diagnosis of intellect, knows only a few intelligence tests, and poorly understands the ethical and legal aspects of using tests.
- grade 2 (unsatisfactory): lacks basic knowledge of classical and contemporary concepts, is unfamiliar with tests, lacks sufficient knowledge of the legal and ethical aspects of their use.
Skills:
- grade 5 (excellent): conducts tests and interprets results very well, is able to integrate them very well and diagnose intelligence, as well as provide feedback.
- grade 4 (good): performs the test well and interprets the results, is able to integrate them well and make an intellectual diagnosis and provide feedback.
- grade 3 (satisfactory): conducts the test, but is unable to integrate the data well and make a diagnosis based on it, and is poor at providing feedback.
- grade 2 (unsatisfactory): makes basic mistakes when conducting the test and interpreting the results.
Competencies (Attitudes):
Tolerance and understanding of differences between people in terms of intellectual level and profile, as well as ethical attitude and attitude towards legal regulations related to testing, are assessed.
