Advanced Network Techniques WM-I-S2-E3-ZTS
The course is intended to familiarize participants with the advanced problems of computer networks. The purpose of the course is to present issues related to level 2 and 3 routing, congestion control algorithms, and quality of service. The subject also touches on aspects of MPLS technology, network administration and communication problems in computing centers and in the cloud.

Learning outcomes
LECTURE
W1 The student has basic knowledge of advanced networking techniques.
W2 The student has an understanding of level 2 and level 3 routing protocols (STP, RIP, OSPF, BGP), MPLS technology, network administration protocols and communication problems in computing centers and the cloud.
W3 The student has a structured and theoretically supported knowledge of congestion control algorithms, quality of service, traffic shaping, packet scheduling methods.
LAB
U1 The student is able to understand the operation of modern computer networks.
U2 The student is able to use the learned protocols and algorithms to implement network technology projects.
U3 The student is able to configure STP, RIP, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols.
Assessment criteria
For all learning outcomes, the following assessment criteria are adopted for all forms of verification:
grade 5: fully achieved (no obvious shortcomings),
grade 4.5: achieved almost fully and criteria for awarding a higher grade are not met,
grade 4: largely achieved and the criteria for a higher grade are not met,
grade 3.5: largely achieved - with a clear majority of positives - and the criteria for granting a higher grade are not met,
grade 3: achieved for most of the cases covered by the verification and criteria for a higher grade are not met,
grade 2: not achieved for most of the cases covered by the verification.
