Statistical analyzes in SPSS WF-PS-N-SPSS
1. SPSS package environment. SPSS package interface. Data coding, creating new variables, recoding variables.
2-4. Statistical description: measures of central tendency, dispersion, skewness. Determining the normality of the distribution. Create a report on the characteristics of the distribution of a variable.
5-6. Difference tests for two independent populations - test selection algorithm, effect size tests, report creation.
7. Tests of differences for two dependent populations - test selection algorithm, creating a report.
8. Tests of differences for more than two independent populations - test selection algorithm, creating a report.
9. Difference tests for more than two dependent populations - test selection algorithm, creating a report.
10. Variables dependency measures - test selection algorithm, creating a report.
11-12. Simple and multiple regression - creating a report.
13. Testing the reliability of the psychological scale - creating a report.
14-15. Extracting factors on a scale - creating a report

KNOWLEDGE:
The student selects the methods of statistical analysis for the analyzed issue according to the algorithm presented in the class
SKILLS:
The student carries out a statistical analysis, interprets the results, and makes a decision as to the hypothesis
COMPETENCES:
The student prepares a report on the basis of statistical analyzes performed by him/herself
DESCRIPTION OF ECTS CREDITS:
Participation in classes: 30h
Preparation for classes: 10h
Preparation of reports for the course completion: 20h
Total hours: 60
ECTS number: 60h / 30 = 2
Assessment criteria
To complete the course, the student prepares two final reports on the selected issue given by the lecturer. The report verifies the knowledge, skills and competences of the student regarding the performance of independent analyzes and reports. The lecturer provides a database for statistical analyzes.
For a failing grade: the student is unable to select a method and perform the analysis, misinterprets the results and makes incorrect conclusions regarding the hypothesis
For a satisfactory grade: the student correctly selects the method and performs the analysis, but misinterprets the results and makes wrong conclusions regarding the hypothesis
With a good mark: the student correctly selects the method and performs the analysis, correctly interprets the results and makes the right conclusions regarding the hypothesis, but makes mistakes when creating the report, incorrectly uses statistical terminology
For a very good grade: the student correctly selects the method and performs the analysis, correctly interprets the results and makes appropriate conclusions regarding the hypothesis, correctly presents the results and conclusions in the report, demonstrating knowledge of statistical terminology
The basis for the course evaluation are:
- active participation in classes
- submission of final reports
