Fundamentals of psychotherapy 2 WF-PS-N-PT2
A series of lectures on psychotherapy. It covers issues such as the history of psychotherapy, basic assumptions, goals and methods, theories of personality development, and views on psychopathology. The lectures will present the basic approaches in psychotherapy, research on effectiveness and efficiency. The lecture will illustrate clinical material in the form of case reports. Students will learn about cognitive, cognitive-behavioral, systemic, existential, humanistic psychotherapies. Case reports will relate to psychotherapy in personality disorders, depressioin, anxiety, eating disorders and psychoses.
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with modern knowledge of psychotherapy and views on personality structure, mental disorders and methods of psychotherapy.

1. A student uses the main concepts of psychotherapy in proper way,
2. Student understands the specificity of particular approaches, their goals and usefulness in treating patients / clients,
3. Student is able to formulate a critical point of view on the strengths and limitations of particular approaches,
4. The student understands the indications for the use of individual psychotherapy methods.
6. The student knows the basic results of research on the effectiveness and efficiency of particular approaches.
7. Student understands the principles of cooperation in an interdisciplinary team.
8. The student knows the basic principles of ethics of psychotherapy.

For all the work student can get from 0 to 6 points.
Assessment:
5 (very good) - 6-5 points,
4 (good) - 4-3 points,
3 (sufficient) - 2 points,
0 (insufficient) - 1-0 point,
