Knowledge: A student possesses knowledge of the structure of the protective measures system,; describes difficulties which could emerge during enforced psychiatric hospitalisation; knows the rights and obligations of people which are subject to protective measures; can determine potential dangers in the work of an expert psychiatrist and psychologist; can identify clinical states, which cause difficulties and controversies in the formulation of the expertise; can provide examples of them.
Skills: A student can analyse system solutions concerning the protective measures; offers solutions to difficult situations, which can occur in psychiatric wards; can use the methodology of forensic psychiatry, offers methods minimising the risk of making a diagnostic and examiners mistakes; sees discrepancies in a concrete research material and tries to explain them; suggests solutions to ethical issues in the work of an expert.
Capacity: A student takes precautions and responsibility in formulating assessments.; is involved in a constructive discussion regarding diagnosis and court expertise; is aware of the possibility of controversial situations in forensic psychiatry, willingly gives an opinion on methodological and ethical rules in forensic psychiatry; is aware of the difficulties which can occur while undertaking protective measures.

Assessment criteria
Knowledge:
(2): A student does not possess any knowledge of conditions for the introduction of protective measures or difficulties which could emerge during enforced psychiatric hospitalisation; does not recognise especially complicated situations in forensic psychiatry and psychology; does not know the rules of giving an expertise or ethical obligations of an expert.
(3): A student possesses general knowledge of conditions for the introduction of protective measures, knows some of the rules of the methodology of forensic psychiatry, knows basic rules of ethics in the work of an expert.
(4): A student has a comprehensive knowledge of conditions for the introduction of protective measures, identifies difficulties when working with detention patients, explains what are the controversies in the work of forensic psychiatry and psychology; describes the methodology of forensic psychiatry; knows the rules of ethics in the work of an expert.
(5): A student has an excellent knowledge of conditions for the introduction of protective measures; can determine the difficulties of working with interned patients; can identify difficulties and controversies in the work of an expert and illustrates them with examples; suggests the methodology of the work of an expert; explains the rules of ethics in the work of an expert.
Skills:
(2): A student cannot analyse the conditions for the introduction of protective measures; does not recognise the difficulties in the work of an expert; when analysing the material, does not use the methodology of forensic psychiatry; cannot refer to the rules of ethics in the work of an expert.
(3): A student selectively analyses the conditions for the introduction of protective measures; does not always anticipate the difficulties in the work of an expert; identifies complicated situations in forensic psychiatry, but is unable to evaluate them; uses the methodology of forensic psychiatry and psychology; does not see the need to apply the rules of ethics in the work of an expert.
(4): A student can correctly verify the conditions for the introduction of protective measures; can anticipate dangers which can occur during detention; correctly identifies difficulties in the assessment and omits ambiguities in the expertise; notices differences between clinical and forensic psychiatry and uses the methodology of the work of an expert; aims at solving ethical issues in the work of an expert.
(5): A student possesses excellent knowledge of the conditions for the introduction of protective measures; critically assesses potential dangers, simultaneously respecting the patient’s rights; points out to the ambiguities in the research material; acts according to the methodology of the work of an expert and the rules of ethics; suggests ways of avoiding mistakes in the expertise.
Capacity:
(2): A student is not aware of the responsibilities of the expert; does not place value on using the methodology of the work of an expert nor respecting the rules of ethics.
(3): A student is aware of the limitations of the work of an expert; formulates conclusions, however, does not justify them; is not always ready to work in a team; unwillingly engages in a discussion.
(4): A student identifies controversial situations in the work of an expert and aims at solving them; is aware of the rules in the forensic psychiatric institutions; aims at objectivism and appreciates the methodology for the work of an expert; aims at holding on to the rules of ethics.
(5): A student approaches the research material with caution and responsibility; willingly undertakes work on difficult and controversial clinical and forensic situations, uses the methodology of the work of an expert; aims at objective assessment; is open to the teamwork and polemics with others; applies the rules of ethics.
