Biases in judgment and decision-making WF-PS-BJD-ER
The goal of this lecture is to broaden students' knowledge about paradigms and theoretical models of cognition. It is expected that students will acquire good understanding of the nature of scientific (experimental) investigation. A secondary aim of the course is to develop students' English vocabulary concerning judgments and decision making psychology.

Learning outcomes
Student knows and understands what the specificity of experimental approach to judgment and decision making is.
Student knows and understands what the analysis of judgment/decision processes is and how it should proceed.
The student is ready to complement by herself the knowledge and skills using latest reports from the research on human judgment and decision making. She/he understands and uses specialized terminology in English in the field of cognitive psychology.
Assessment criteria
For a very good grade:
The student demonstrates detailed knowledge of experimental research on particular cognitive biases (W1).
The student is able to list, interpret and compare various theoretical explanations of the course of cognitive processes leading to biases in judgment and decision-making. (W2)
The student is ready to individually complete own knowledge on the basis of the literature on research on judgment and decision-making (K1)
The student properly uses a variety of specialized terminology in English in the field of cognitive psychology (U1)
For a good grade:
The student demonstrates knowledge of experimental research on cognitive distortions (W1)
The student is able to list and interpret the main theoretical explanations of the course of cognitive processes leading to biases of judgment and decision-making. (W2)
The student is ready to complete knowledge on his own on the basis of available literature on judgment and decision-making (K1)
The student properly uses specialized terminology in English in the field of cognitive psychology (U1)
For a sufficient grade:
