Methodological aspects of research on psychotherapy WF-PS-N-MBP
1. Introduction to the methodological problems of research on psychotherapy, discussion the plan of the course and methods of assessment.
2. The issue of research on psychotherapy: characteristics of patients (including its expectations for psychotherapy), the experience of the patient during psychotherapy (including psychotherapeutic relationship), the effectiveness of psychotherapy (direct and deferred).
3. The ethics of research on psychotherapy.
4. Putting hypotheses and selection of procedures for research on the psychotherapeutic process. Models of research on psychotherapy.
5. The method of sampling for the study of psychotherapeutic phenomena (random sample, an intentional sample).
6. Discussion of the example of a tool for measuring the expectations of the patient to psychotherapy - Creditibility / Expectancy Questionnaire (CEQ). Factorial structure of the tools, reliability, correlations with other scales.
7. Discussion of the example of a tool used to measure the psychotherapeutic relationship - Working Alliance Inventory (WAI). Factorial structure of the tools, reliability, correlations with other scales.

Knowledge - the student lists and describes the main research methods and data analysis regarding research on the course of the psychotherapeutic process.
Skills - the student chooses the appropriate methods to study the psychotherapeutic process; correctly interprets the results of empirical articles; knows how to search and select sources that will be used to enrich his knowledge and skills.
Competence - strives for reliable and consistent methodology for collecting empirical data, maintains criticism of concepts that are not justified by empirical research, and is aware of the research limitations of psychotherapeutic process.

Assessment criteria
Written examination in the form of open questions. For a satisfactory grade, the student must provide 60% of the correct answer.
