The theme of the course is to present students with the latest reports on the practical use of psychological knowledge. Students will be presented with information on the use of psychological knowledge in psychotherapy, law (including the profession of an expert witness), the recruitment process, health care, the media, business, politics, environmental protection, and special attention will be paid to ethical issues of the profession of psychologist-practitioner.

Learning outcomes
K_W12 Knows in depth the methods of providing psychological help. Knows the assumptions and practical application of selected strands of psychotherapy, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, counseling and revalidation, pedagogical therapy. Knows psychiatric methods of treatment of mental disorders. Has in-depth knowledge of the principles of building contact and helping relationships in different social contexts and types of helping activities and their practical application.
K_W17 Has a structured knowledge of ethics, especially the ethics of the professional psychologist. Knows the ethical standards of practicing the profession of psychologist-practitioner and psychologist-researcher, as defined in national and international regulations. Knows selected methods and tools of measurement and description suitable for work psychology. Knows the applications of psychological knowledge in organizations and institutions.
K_W19 Knows the social and legal conditions related to professional activities in psychological and psychiatric care.
K_U18 Is able to plan an intervention strategy adequately to a specific case. Knows how to apply selected methods of psychological assistance and undertake psychoeducation and health promotion activities.
K_U19 Has developed interpersonal skills. Is able to establish contact on specialized topics with people in different social contexts, using language adapted to the interlocutor.
K_K01 He/she is ready to undertake psychological practice behaving professionally, with respect to clients, taking into account their changing needs, guided by the welfare of the client and principles of professional ethics. He is ready to act in accordance with the principles of professional ethics.
K_K02 Is ready in professional activity to take into account its ethical and moral aspects, adhering to the principles of cooperation in a professional environment.
K_K05 He is aware of his own predispositions and the way of mental functioning and the impact of his actions on various social environments. He is ready in this activity to think and act in an entrepreneurial way.

-for a grade of 5: The student will have a fairly extensive knowledge of the practical application of psychological knowledge to work in such areas as psychotherapy, law (including the profession of expert witness), the recruitment process, health care, the media, business, politics, environmental protection), and on ethical issues of practicing the profession of psychologist-practitioner.
-for a grade of 4: The student will have a fairly comprehensive knowledge of the practical application of psychological knowledge to work in such areas as psychotherapy, law (including the profession of expert witness), the recruitment process, health care, media, business, politics, environmental protection) and on ethical issues of practicing the profession of psychologist-practitioner.
-for a grade of 3: The student will have little but sufficient knowledge of the practical application of psychological knowledge to work in such areas as psychotherapy, law (including the profession of expert witness), the recruitment process, health care, media, business, politics, environmental protection) and on ethical issues of practicing the profession of psychologist-practitioner.
-for a grade of 2: The student will not have sufficient knowledge of the practical application of psychological knowledge to work in such areas as psychotherapy, law (including the profession of expert witness), the recruitment process, health care, media, business, politics, environmental protection) and on ethical issues of practicing the profession of psychologist-practitioner.

-for a grade of 5: The student will have a very strong ability to apply the acquired knowledge in various areas such as: psychotherapy, law (especially when it comes to the profession of expert witness), recruitment, health care, media, business, politics, environmental protection, and will be able to assess the risk of ethical controversies in the above-mentioned areas.
-for a grade of 4: The student will have a fairly strong ability to apply the acquired knowledge in various areas such as psychotherapy, law (especially when it comes to the profession of expert witness), recruitment, health care, media, business, politics, environmental protection, and will be able to assess the risk of ethical controversies in the above-mentioned areas.
-for a grade of 3: The student will have little, although sufficient, ability to apply the knowledge gained in various areas such as psychotherapy, law (especially as it relates to the profession of expert witness), recruitment, health care, media, business, politics, environmental protection, and will be able to assess the risk of ethical controversy in the areas listed above.
