The classes are designed to convince students of the importance of occupational health and safety issues at work and outside of it.
They cover the following content:
1. Legal regulations on labor protection, the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, the Labor Code, Acts, Collective labor agreements, Work regulations,
2. Labor protection system, the State Labor Inspectorate, the State Sanitary Inspectorate, the Office of Technical Inspection, Trade unions, the Social Labor Inspectorate,
3. The Occupational Health and Safety Service, the Occupational Health and Safety Commission, characteristics,
4. Basic obligations of the employer and persons managing employees in terms of providing them with safe and hygienic working conditions,
5. Rights and obligations of the employee in terms of compliance with the principles of occupational health and safety at work in the establishment,
6. Women in the establishment, protection of work and women's health,
7. Employment of minors, conditions,
8. Employment of disabled persons, conditions,
9. Accidents at work, occupational disease, procedures,
10. Hazardous, burdensome, harmful factors occurring during work, principles and methods of eliminating these factors,
11. Electrical equipment, lighting, electromagnetic field, infrared radiation, ultraviolet radiation, characteristics,
12. Mechanical vibrations, noise, chemical substances, poisoning, methods of eliminating these threats, personal protective equipment,
13. Occupational risk, assessment, categories, dangerous human behavior,
14. Ergonomics, safe work station, occupational hygiene and medicine, work premises, conditions,
15. Random events, threats, accidents, first aid.

Knowledge: the student knows the legal basis regarding the obligations of the employer and employee in the field of occupational health and safety at work, recognizes factors that are dangerous to humans in the work environment, lists methods for eliminating or limiting these factors, has knowledge regarding the functioning of humans in the work environment,
Skills: the student knows how to act in the event of an accident, provides first aid, conducts a post-accident procedure,
Competencies: the student is able to determine occupational risk at the workplace, changes their approach to performing professional duties, guided by the priority of their own safety and the safety of others.

Assessment criteria
Requirements for individual assessments in terms of knowledge, skills and competences:
Very good assessment:
- 90 - 100% knowledge, skills and understanding of the program content,
- The student has fully mastered the program material and skills. Knows the names, understands the concepts and physical phenomena related to health and safety. Is able to indicate and justify the need to apply health and safety regulations, fire protection and environmental protection, indicates irregularities. Is able to independently adapt and plan the workstation in accordance with the requirements of ergonomics and health and safety regulations. Effectively uses the knowledge and skills acquired in other classes.
Good assessment:
- 70 - 89% knowledge, skills and understanding of the program content,
- The student has minor deficiencies in the knowledge and skills of the program content. Knows and justifies the need to apply health and safety regulations in the workplace and outside it. Defines the rights and obligations of the employee and employer in the field of health and safety. Discusses work in an institution in accordance with the requirements of ergonomics and health and safety regulations. With a little help and inspiration from an academic teacher, he/she is able to independently solve tasks (situations) related to health and safety and interpret them correctly and determine the stages of action.
Sufficient grade:
- 60 - 69% of knowledge, skills and understanding of the program content,
- The student's knowledge is incomplete, fragmentary and fragmentary. Knows why it is necessary to apply health and safety regulations in the workplace and outside of it. Knows how the employee's workstation should be prepared, in accordance with the requirements of ergonomics. Selectively presents some health and safety regulations, lists the rights and obligations of the director of the workplace, employees in the field of health and safety. The student is able to interpret the most important issues in the field of health and safety in the workplace and outside of it (in the environment) with the help of an academic teacher, has difficulties in combining them into logical sequences and in drawing conclusions independently.
Unsatisfactory grade:
- 50 - 59% of knowledge, skills and understanding of the program content.
- The student has serious deficiencies in the scope of basic knowledge and skills specified in the program content. He is characterized by a passive attitude during exercises, but when motivated by the academic teacher, he shows a willingness to cooperate. He does not systematically participate in classes. He is unable to reproduce in practice the basic skills acquired during classes. Knows why it is necessary to apply occupational health and safety regulations. With significant help from an academic teacher, is able to discuss how a workplace should be prepared in a company, similarly lists selected occupational health and safety regulations, institutions dealing with safety in the context of occupational health and safety. With the help of an academic teacher, lists the rights and obligations of the employee and employer in the field of occupational health and safety.
The assessment will also take into account the student's preparation for the exercises, their presentations, and their activity during classes. The final colloquium will be conducted orally.
