Introductory jurisprudence WS-SOZ-PS-WZzP
The aim of the course is to get students acquainted with basic notions of jurisprudence, required for competent utilisation of sources of law, legal doctrine, administrative and court decisions in the practice of social work. The course comprises two main parts. In the first part selected theoretical notions of legal scholarship are discussed. The second part of the course pertains to the most important institutions of selected branches of law.
The course material is divided into 12 topics:
1. Different meanings of the term "law". Diversity of law. Legal scholarship
2. Language of law. Legal norms.
3. Provisions of law
4. The legal system. Binding force of law.
5. Lawmaking. Sources of law.
6. Application of law and legal interpretation
7. Organization of the Polish judiciary
8. Selected issues in constitutional law and European law
9. Selected issues in human rights
10. Selected issues in civil law
11. Selected issues in administrative law
12. Selected issues in criminal law
