Historical grammar of Polish language WH-FP-C-GHJP1
Course content:
Workshop classes are to acquaint students with the most important phonetic changes which have happened in the Polish language; interpretaion of the reasons of the system irregularities which exist in the contemporary Polish; reconstruction of earlier state, which allows to trace the process of transformation; their influence on morphology and modification of the phonological system.
The basis for the phenomennon analysis are relics of the Polish writing.

Practical exercises during the classes.

Written test:
- interpretation of contemporary Polish examples - tracing the correct reconstruction of phonetic changes, which have taken place in a given word;
- interpretation of chosen phonetic archaisms existing in contemporary;
- interpretation of contemporary phonological system (giving the reasons why they led to the present state)
Points of assessment: 1 point for each correct answer;
Required minimum score: 55 % of correct answers.
