Content: Full description of the subject Meteorology researched the atmospheric states and changes occurring in them, it seeks reasons for these changes and explains them, and looks at forces ruling them. The physical processes are explained according to the rules of physics. Instrumental research is widely used in meteorology. Weather is a current state of the atmosphere described through certain values of meteorological elements and atmospheric occurrences. Climatology is part of geography studies; it is a study of climate, typical, observed for many years atmospheric conditions, characteristic for a certain place in the world and dependant on geographical factors. Climate is one of the characteristic physical properties of the area, affecting human activities, geographic distribution of industries, land and water communication and others. In climatology results of meteorological observations from many years are analyzed using statistical, graphic and cartographic methods. Climate is characteristic for a certain area system of atmospheric processes and occurrences, shaped by the physical and geographical properties of the area, based on observation foe many years. Knowledge: The student defines the basic concepts associated with the science of the atmosphere. It explains and characterizes the subject of climatology and meteorologyh, and understands the difference between meteorology and climatology. Explains and formulates mechanisms influencing climate on a global scale, mesoscale and local scale. Names the zones and climatic and are characterizes them.
Skills: The student is able to classify the synoptic phenomena. Analyzes and draws conclusions from the occuring processes in the global atmospheric circulation. Proposed solutions to global warming, reviews reports on the subject.
Competencies: The student understands the new theories and hypotheses on possible climate change. Keeps criticism and carefulness in statements on climate change and anthropocentrism. Is creative, open, and aware of the complex and interrelated effects of various factors on the processes occurring in the atmosphere and the environment.
