Priesthood - God's gift WT-SSTN-PG
The priesthood, seen as a gift of God, allows to deepen its meaning and experience both for the priests and those who use their ministry. Understanding the priesthood in the perspective of the gift refers to Christ, who through this gift connects himself with the recipient himself ("alter Christus"). Showing a broader social and cultural context helps to see the topicality and need of the priesthood for the modern world. The study of how priests themselves experience their ministry in different places of the world allows to distinguish what is common to all priests and what concerns only certain places and times. The priesthood, as a gift from God, is also lived in a very individual way. That is why it is necessary for each priest to have a personal insight into his spiritual life and its development. The lecture shows the ways and means of such development and strives for an appropriate self-love, joy in one's priesthood, and willingness to serve others.
