Purpose of the lecture:
a) Knowledge of the entire grammar of the Greek language.
b) providing basic information on the syntax of the biblical Greek language;
c) translation of selected biblical texts, adapted in terms of their level to the given state of knowledge of Greek grammar.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge: The student knows the grammar of ancient Greek and basic Greek syntactics.
Skills: The student is able to translate a biblical text independently, using knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.
Competencies: The student is competent to speak on issues related to ancient and especially biblical Greek.
Assessment criteria
The assessment will consider the following:
1) active work on exercises;
2) the ability to read the Greek text correctly;
3) knowledge of Greek grammar and syntax
4) the ability to translate selected texts of the New Testament
During the semester there are two or three written tests on grammar, syntax and vocabulary from translated texts.
The grade depends on the number of points obtained for an oral and written test.
The prerequisite for passing the course is passing all tests and demonstrating knowledge of Greek grammar, syntax and vocabulary in class.
