Italian WT-SLF-JW
After two years obligatory learning at seminary and a year during postulantship:
- Spoken language: ability to move about Italy, to communicate in Italian-speaking environment, to say daily prayers
- Written language, with dictionary: describe spiritual problems, write simple prayers, petitions, etc
After next years (non-obligatory learning):
- speak Italian in full range of everyday life
- recite Italian breviary
- carry on conversation on spiritual problems
- translate simple texts
Essential questions explained and practiced in use:
- reading texts and dialogues
- making questions and answers ( in this through the method of lots of quick short questions)
- memorizing prayers, hymns and songs
- translation
- short lecture on the structure and system of the language (mainly difference between both languages)
Continuous appraisal (each student many times during the lessons shows command of the current
material)
Credits: written and oral exams. 2nd and 3rd year presentation of written student’s work and
memorized texts
