Verb – forms and use of to be, can, have, tenses: present simple, present continuous, future simple; the imperative, questions and negatives, word order
Functions:
Asking for and giving personal information, describing people, speaking about daily routines, free time activities, telling the time, making simple greetings, writing short texts: compositions, greetings; listening to simple dialogues, songs
(Pre)Intermediate group
Vocabulary
Social English, vocabulary concerning family, description of people, way of living, work and free time, famous people (saints), religion, feasts, greetings, prayers
Grammar
Verbs – forms and use of tenses, modal verbs, making questions and negatives, the sequence of tenses, conditionals, passive voice, indirect speech, word order, word building, adjectives and adverbs – forms, comparative and superlative;
nouns and articles, pronouns
Functions:
Greetings, talking about oneself and other people, making an interview, a short conversation, writing short texts: letters, summaries, essays, reports
listening to film scenes and dialogs, songs
reading and translation of scientific articles, in this biblical, on religion, spiritual life
Continuous assessment + grammar and vocabulary tests every half-year. Besides students should write a short essay, a letter or a review. Intermediate students translate simple texts on religion
