Inculturation as cultural transformation. Limitations of inculturation. Catechesis and inculturation. Catechesis as an active agent of inculturation. The concept of catechesis and its inculturative function. Contemporary European culture as the environment of catechesis. Characteristics of contemporary culture. Learning outcomes
1. In terms of knowledge:
The student lists the definition of culture and the definition of catechesis. He names the relationship between catechesis and culture. Characterizes the process of inculturation. Describes the requirements to be met by the process of inculturation.
2. In terms of skills:
The student analyzes the concept of catechesis and culture. Compares different accounts of culture. Draws conclusions about the interrelationship of catechesis and culture. It proves that catechesis seen in the process of inculturation is more effective.
3. In terms of competencies:
The student recognizes the need to include culture in catechesis. It creates appropriate scenarios for catechesis included in the process of inculturation. He prepares appropriate outlines of such catechesis, depending on the addressees.

Assessment criteria
Evaluation: The student is unable to determine the nature of catechesis as seen in the process of inculturation.
Evaluation sufficient: the student is able to characterize catechesis and inculturation.
Evaluation good: The student gives both the characteristics of catechesis seen in the process of inculturation and its conditions.
Evaluation very good: the student fully characterizes the contemporary culture. He knows how to give the characteristics of catechesis in the perspective of the process of inculturation, characterizing its conditions.
