1. Historical outline of the psychology as a science. Main trends in modern psychology. Understanding human’s behaviour from different theoretical perspectives. Main areas of psychology.
2. Methodes user in modern psychology. Basic research methodes: experimental mode, correlational mode.
3. Elements of Individual differences psychology: intelligence, emotional intelligence, temperament. Regulative theories of temperament: temperament vs stress coping; temperament vs style of action
4. Personalisty and goal-directed behaviour. Regulation levels: drive and emotional mechanisms, cognitive factors, value system. Selected personality. Personality disorders.
5. Emotive and motivational processes.
6. Human as a religious being – elements of psychology of religion. Psychological theories of spirituality sources. Qualities of mature spirituality. Psychological causes of religious sect appeal. Religion meaning in individual’s psychological functioning.
7. Forming of individual’s identity during the life cycle, with an emphasis placed on sexual identity and sexual orientation forming.
8. Basics of psychology of dependence, containing i.a. dependencies In modern world.
Methodes of evaluation: written exam (multiple choice test plus one descriptive question) in the spring semester. Requirements: reading the basic literature and written materials presented during the classes)
