KNOWLEDGE: Student knows the teaching on angels of most important St Thomas Aquinas predecessors; knows the philosophical background of Aquinas teaching. He can describe angel as immaterial created beings, angelic powers and actions of intellect and will. Student knows St Thomas teaching on the hierarchy of angels and their function, as guardian angels. Student knows the Aquinas teaching on sin of angels and the the activities of evil angels on man (temptation).
ABILITIES: Student can refer critically on the importance of angelic beings for medieval worldview. Can discuss on whether existence of angels is only a belief or whether we can formulate demonstrations proofing their existence. Student is able to argue on importance of belief in existence of angels for daily religious life today (guarding activity of good angels, demonic influence, temptation, possession) Student can explain the role of angels in Catholic teaching on sin, temptation, and eternal punishment for the modern world.

Knowledge:
-3 student knows basic claims on nature of angels and their activities.
-4 student knows the teaching of Aquinas on angelic presence in place, angelic cognition and will.
-5 student knows and understand the detailed teaching on angelic cognition and activities.
Abilities:
-3 student can formulate and defend rational arguments on existence of angels.
-4 student sees the consequences of proper recognition of angelic nature to understand their activities in the created world and the limitations of their influence.
-5 student can explain how good angel or demon can affect the soul of man and can argue on importance of proper recognition of such activities.
