Assessment criteria
Level of subject – intermediate advanced
Subject objectives– This subject will introduce students to the views of the Catholic Church on social issues. Students will learn about moral assessment of man’s social and economic activity from the perspective of Catholic Social Teaching. The importance of social organs such as: family, society, state, community of nations, trade unions, associations, etc. will be emphasized. Church’s relation with existing and changing social systems, mainly capitalism and socialism and the Church’s role in warning against all forms of social utopia will be discussed.
