Information and journalistic commentary WT-DKS-P-IK
During the classes, topics related to the differences between individual journalistic information genres will be discussed - theoretical foundations of creating information texts; analysis of current political, social and cultural events in the country and around the world based on information and press articles; observation of the contemporary press market; division of the press market; the problem of editorial lines; quality of information in the press, radio, television and the Internet - characteristics of information appearing in specific media; similarities and differences between information prepared for publication in various media; independent research of the content of press and television news services; journalistic commentary - theoretical foundations of creating simple journalistic texts; information and commentary - differences and similarities between two types of journalistic texts; ability to separate information from commentary - study of selected cases; practicing the skills of proficient preparation of journalistic information (e.g. during staged press conferences); developing the ability to prepare expert comments; working with sources used when writing journalistic information; taxonomy of sources and assessment of their quality.

Learning outcomes
EK no. 1 - has knowledge about current events in Poland and around the world - is always prepared for classes;
EK no. 2 has the ability to formulate critical opinions on the role of the media, how they function and the most important media phenomena;
EK No. 3 - can independently create various journalistic texts - both informational and journalistic;
EK no. 4 - speaks Polish fluently in speech and writing and ensures the linguistic correctness of prepared texts and statements;
EK No. 5 – is able to obtain information, verify its quality and use it for its intended purpose;
ECTS description:
- participation in exercises (30 hours)
- preparation for exercises (15 hours)
- presenting homework, preparing a presentation (15 hours). A total of 60 hours (2 ECTS points).

EK no. 1 - has knowledge about current events in Poland and around the world - is always prepared for classes;
implemented using delivery methods - information lectures, talks, explanations - and problem-based methods (conversational lecture; classic problem-based method)
for a grade of 2 - has no knowledge about current events in Poland and in the world;
for a grade of 3 - prepares sufficiently for classes, acquiring knowledge only about the most important events in Poland and around the world;
for a grade of 4 - prepares for classes by gaining knowledge about the most important events in Poland and around the world; can indicate their basis;
for a grade of 5 - prepares for classes by gaining knowledge about the most important events in Poland and around the world; can indicate their basis; broader context and show their consequences.
EK no. 2 has the ability to formulate critical opinions on the role of the media, how they function and the most important media phenomena;
implemented using a practical method (subject exercises, project method);
for a grade of 2 - cannot express a critical opinion about the media;
for a grade of 3 - has a sufficient ability to formulate critical opinions about the role of the media, how they function and the most important media phenomena;
for a grade of 4 - is able to independently, correctly (based on specific knowledge) formulate critical opinions on the role of the media, how they function and the most important media phenomena;
for a grade of 5 - is able to independently, fluently and correctly (based on specific knowledge) formulate critical opinions on the role of the media, how they function and the most important media phenomena;
EK No. 3 - can independently create various journalistic texts - both informational and journalistic;
effect achieved by a practical method - performing numerous subject exercises;
grade 2 - cannot create journalistic texts;
for a grade of 3 - independently creates the simplest journalistic texts of each type;
for a grade of 4 - creates correct journalistic texts of each type;
for a grade of 5 - fluently creates properly composed and linguistically correct journalistic and journalistic texts.
EK no. 4 - speaks Polish fluently in speech and writing and ensures the linguistic correctness of prepared texts and statements;
implemented using a practical method (subject exercises) and a problem-based and activating method;
for a grade of 2 - does not speak Polish fluently in speech and/or writing or does not care about the linguistic correctness of the prepared texts and statements;
grade 3 - he uses Polish in speech and writing, but there are linguistic errors in his works; takes sufficient care of the linguistic correctness of the prepared texts and statements;
grade 4 - he uses correct Polish in speech and writing, but there are minor linguistic errors in his works; ensures the linguistic correctness of prepared texts and statements;
out of 5 - he uses correct Polish fluently in speech and writing, there are no linguistic errors in his works; ensures the highest quality and linguistic correctness of prepared texts and statements.
EK No. 5 – is able to obtain information, verify its quality and use it for its intended purpose;
implemented using the classic problem method;
for a grade of 2: is unable to obtain information or correctly verify its quality or is unable to use the information in accordance with its intended purpose;
for a grade of 3: can obtain simple information and correctly verify its quality; is able to use information in accordance with its intended purpose;
for a grade of 4: can obtain various information and correctly verify its quality; is able to use information in accordance with its intended purpose;
for a grade of 5: is able to obtain various information (using reliable sources) and correctly verify their quality; is able to use all types of information in accordance with its intended purpose;
The condition for passing the course is the achievement of all assumed learning outcomes.
Therefore, the positive grade in a subject is determined by the number of points obtained from:
- papers written during the semester during classes,
- level of activity during classes,
- attendance - every absence from training is required to be justified,
- passing all inspection work.
