The ethics of parenthood according to the axiology of John Paul II WSR-NR-2-ERJP
The lecture is conducted in the form of a seminar, discusses the basic concepts, standards and ethical problems that arise in the context of the implementation of the parental vocation. It is about the Christian worldview, i.e. to help the student gain the intellectual conviction, skills and competence that all parenting activities should be illuminated by an ethical principle, which results from a dignity, personalistic and then theological, i.e. sacramental, marriage and parental vocation.
Hereby, the aim of the course is to shape the student's consciousness in such a way as to free him from the stereotypes of subjectivist, individualistic, pragmatic, nihilistic (agnostic) tightening and other such distortions about parenting (i.e. from anthropological and ethical reductionism) present in culturally diverse today societies. We mean intellectual formation for a responsible social attitude, someone who lives in a culturally diversified society in which moral nihilism and material claims are present on a daily basis.
The topics to be implemented are as follows:
1. God, the source of life.
and). The universal value of fatherhood.
2. Study of motherhood; crisis.
and). Parenthood as the transmission of life (fertile love).
3. The dignity of the marriage act - its ethical value.
and). The family as the child's microworld.
4. Parenthood and its dignity and child upbringing.
and). The issue of adopting a child.
5. Parenthood and education to values, the role of grandparents.
and). Parental responsibility for a child's sexual identity.
6. Domestic violence and the responsibility of institutions.
a. Child's loneliness in the family.
7. Emotions in pregnancy - responsibility for the child - health, life.
and). A surrogate mother.
8. The phenomenon of childlessness - test.
