- Society: Concept of society, its characteristics: types of societies, basic conditions for surviving: concept of social stratus and social role.
- Culture: sociological understanding of culture: its definition and components: symbol, language, norms values, attitudes, stereotypes, ethnocentrism.
- Socialization: definition of socialization, types of socialization; agencies of socialization: family, peer groups, school; emergency of the self.
- Social control and social deviance: Social order, social control, conformity, understanding of social deviance, causes of deviance, consequences of deviance.
- Socio-cultural change: definition of social change, types of social change, determinants of social change; social movements.
- Groups: description of groups, types of groups, group processes: bureaucracy its concept and role.
- Social classes: social stratification; systems of stratification, concept of class, Classes in the capitalist societies, classes in the “peoples’ democracies”, social mobility.
- Communities: duality of meaning, rural urban dichotomy, industrialization, urbanism: metropolitan area, megalopolis, problems of urban life.
- Institutions: definition of institution, types of institutions, characteristics of institutions: institution of family, institution of religion: social components of religion, functions of religion, organization of religion, religion and social stratification.
- Collective behavior: definition of collective behavior, determinants of collective behavior, types of collective behavior, the public, public opinion and propaganda.
