Lecture 1: outline of the problems of international integration; history of integration processes in Europe;
Lecture 2: European Union - historical outline and its legal international subjectivity;
Lecture 3: international legal subjectivity of the EU; EU as a supranational organization;
Lecture 4: EU institutional system (general news; Council, European Council, European Parliament);
Lecture 5: institutional system of the EU (European Commission, Court of Justice of the EU);
Lecture 6: EU institutional system (Court of Auditors, European Central Bank, European Investment Bank; other EU bodies; national bodies in the system of application of EU law).
Lecture 7: scope of EU law; structural principles of EU law (transfer of powers, subsidiarity and proportionality, loyal cooperation);
Lecture 8: structural principles of EU law (primacy of EU law, direct effect, obligation to ensure the effectiveness of EU law in national law, state liability for violation of EU law);
Lecture 9: axiology of EU law;
Lecture 10: sources of EU law (primary law, general principles of EU law, international agreements).
Lecture 11: sources of EU law (derived law) and interpretation of EU law;
Lecture 12: formation of EU law (formation of primary law, conclusion of international agreements with third parties, formation of derived law);
Lecture 13: control of compliance with EU law (extrajudicial control; complaint for violation of EU law)
Lecture 14: control of compliance with EU law (action for annulment, action for failure to act, action under Article 269 TfUE, action for damages);

Learning outcomes
AD1_W02: the student learns the basic terminology of EU law; lists the essential procedures for the adoption of EU legislation and the procedures for controlling its legality;
AD1_W03: the student knows the institutional system of the EU, as well as the relationship between EU law and national law;
AD1_W04: the student knows the rules of protection of the individual's rights under EU law, both before national and EU bodies;
AD1_W05: the student knows the sources of EU law and the specifics of its interpretation; he/she is able to find the required acts of EU law or their drafts, the jurisprudence of EU courts and other official acts of the EU; he/she is able to assess whether a given issue regulated by national law is covered by EU law.

AD1_W02:
the student has not mastered the basic terminology of EU law, is not able to characterize the essential procedures for adopting EU legal acts and procedures for controlling their legality = failing grade
the student has mastered the basic terminology of EU law to a limited extent, he/she is able to characterize the essential procedures for adopting EU legal acts and procedures for controlling their legality to a basic extent = sufficient grade
the student has mastered the basic terminology of EU law at a good level, he/she is able to correctly characterize the basic procedures for adopting EU legal acts and procedures for controlling their legality = good grade
the student has mastered the basic terminology of EU law at a very good level, is able to characterize in detail the essential procedures for the adoption of EU legal acts and procedures for controlling their legality = very good grade
AD1_W03:
the student is not able to characterize the institutional system of the EU or the relationship between EU law and national law = insufficient grade
the student is able to indicate the most important features of the EU institutions and also has basic information on the relationship between EU law and national law = sufficient grade
a student is able to discuss the composition, functions and operation of the EU institutions, as well as is able to explain the relationship between EU law and national law in the light of CJEU and ECJ case law = good grade
the student is able to discuss in detail the composition, functions and operation of the EU institutions and is able to explain in depth the relationship between EU law and national law in light of CJEU and CT jurisprudence = very good grade
AD1_W04:
the student does not know the rules of protection under EU law of the rights of the individual before national as well as EU bodies = insufficient grade

the student is minimally able to characterize the sources of EU law and the specifics of its interpretation; he/she is unable to find the required versions of EU law acts or their drafts, rulings of EU courts and other official acts of the EU in databases; he/she does not know how to determine whether a given issue regulated by national law is covered by EU law = insufficient grade
