Selected problems of pedagogical thought WNP-PEZ-WPMPF
The aim of the lecture is to show the development of selected issues from pedagogical thought and practice, home education, family history from antiquity to the 20th century, as well as the role of children in propaganda in the 20th century in the Third Reich, the USSR and the People's Republic of Poland (1944-1956) - on the example of the analysis of fragments of documentary and feature movies from the era.
This goal is to be achieved through critical and comparative analysis of fragments of documentaries and feature films from the epoch as historical sources, as well as source texts, interpretation of numerous illustrations, and critical evaluation of the existing literature on the subject. Hence the desire for the lecture to enable discussion with students as far as possible, joint investigation of conclusions, exchange of experiences - including pedagogical ones - with students.
The aim is not only to try to recreate phenomena from the past, but above all to teach the humanities workshop: the ability to independently assess pedagogical views and educational realities, drawing independent conclusions, showing the simplification of some generally accepted textbook formulations, making an attempt to synthesize the formation of educational ideals in a given time, its relationship with the student (pupil), the impact on the practical guidelines for education and didactics. The presentation of a broader pan-European comparative perspective, the interpenetration and repetition of individual models of education and upbringing is to serve to draw independent conclusions by students on the dependence of the formulation of individual theories and practices of education on the historical conditions (political, social and economic) of a given epoch - also in the Polish perspective. The interactive form of classes is to enable students to make their own assessments, discussion and criticism of commonly accepted stereotypes.

Learning outcomes
During the lectures, students will learn about the most important topics, research questions, methods and workshops of humanist work - on the example of research on the history of childhood. The lectures are to shape the student's ability to deepen his or her humanistic thinking - pedagogical and historical - and to familiarize him or her with historical criticism of various types of source messages (theoretical pedagogical treatises, school textbooks, diaries, films). The aim of the lectures is also to develop the ability to critically read literature on the subject and to respond to the scientific discussion on the history of childhood.
