The aim of the subject seminar is to learn and improve the skills of analyzing philosophical texts (both historical and systematic) and introduce the student to the issues related to laughter, humor and comedy in the history of philosophy. The student, on the basis of ancient texts (Plato and Aristotle), as well as modern ones (Bergson, Dziemidok, Berger, Critchley), can indicate the historical development of issues
"laughter, humor and comedy", as well as to list various functions of these phenomena indicated by philosophers.

The student in a thorough and comprehensive way notices the relationships between the main philosophical sub-disciplines and knows the advanced philosophical terminology in Polish from the main philosophical sub-disciplines. He also knows how to use professional search tools focused on philosophical fields, with particular emphasis on the selected philosophical discipline and its issues. The student is also able to creatively use philosophical and methodological knowledge in formulating hypotheses and constructing critical arguments, as well as independently acquire knowledge and broaden research skills. Can reveal flaws or logical errors in oral or written statements and identify the impact of these flaws or errors on the persuasiveness of arguments and formulate comprehensive responses to criticism. The student acquires the competence to participate in social and cultural life, is interested in innovative philosophical concepts in connection with other parts of cultural and social life. The graduate is ready to identify and formulate ethical problems related to research or publication work, accountability to colleagues and other members of society, and to actively solve these problems.

Assessment criteria
Essay
The assessment criterion will be a written essay, which will verify the student's ability to analyze philosophical texts and knowledge of the philosophical concepts of the issue of pleasure.
