The series of classes will consist of two parts. In the first part, students will become acquainted with the general problems of contemporary ethics of war in its two variants - the classical theory (M. Walzer) and the revisionist theory (J. While analysing/translating fragments of the selected text, students will become familiarised with the basic problems raised in the contemporary debates on the ethics of military operations. When translating the philosophical text, particular attention will be paid to the precise recognition and proper rendering of its original meaning, the lexical correctness of the translation, as well as the naturalness of the applied stylistic / idiomatic solutions.
