Human physiology WB-BI-BC-05a
To familiarize students with messages covering basic issues in the field of human physiology. Students will be familiarized with information in the field of general physiology (including internal body environment, cell function control, membrane transports, action potential propagation, neuromuscular junction and synapses, skeletal muscle, muscle tone, smooth muscle, autonomic nervous system). In the next stages will be discussed issues in the field of neurophysiology, cardiovascular and blood physiology, respiratory system physiology, digestive system physiology, kidneys and endocrine physiology. Each of the departments will also cover issues related to pathologies in the functioning of individual systems. During classes, students will have the opportunity to perform appropriate tests and measurements, as well as sections of animal organs and tissues.

Objective effect 1. The student lists and defines phenomena and processes as well as issues in the field of human physiology
Objective effect 2. The student explains the scientific terminology used during classes, characterizes research methods used in human physiology
Learning outcomes in terms of skills:
Objective effect 3: the student is able to effectively search and collect information in the field of human physiology from scientific articles, including those in English, can interpret this information
Objective effect 4: The student carries out the instructions given in the form of both verbal and written instructions
Objective effect 5: the student conducts appropriate tests and observations in the laboratory, is able to formulate conclusions based on them
Learning outcomes in terms of social competence:
Subject effect 6: the student is able to interact in a group and take on different roles in it
Objective effect 7: the student is able to define priorities thanks to which it is possible to carry out subsequent tasks

Assessment criteria
Assessment methods and criteria - exercises:
Colloquium summarizing the known methods and research techniques used in human physiology
Groups of students are required to perform a report after each thematic block, which will summarize their work during classes. Reports are submitted in groups, each of them should contain a theoretical introduction supported by appropriate bibliography (also in English). It is also necessary to pass presentations in the field of pathological physiology.

94-100% -5
93-88% -4,5
87-80% -4
79-70% -3.5
69-60% -3
less than 59.9% -2
The student may have 1 unexcused absence.
For the grade 2 (ndst.): The student is not able to search for information in the field of human physiology, especially in English, he is not able to synthesize and interpret it, does not use adequately different sources available, he is unable to learn in a targeted manner. The student is not able to cooperate in a group, cannot prepare and present in the form of oral presentation of content in the field of human physiology; does not understand the need to raise the level of his competence, does not understand the need for observation, does not understand the need to update his knowledge of human physiology
On the grade 3 (dst.): The student is sufficiently looking for information in the field of human physiology, poorly copes with texts in English, is looking for information in various available sources and synthesizes them although he does it sufficiently, sufficiently copes with independent and targeted science. The student is able to cooperate in a group, although he never plays the role of a leader, sufficiently copes with the preparation and presentation of oral content; understands sufficiently the need to raise the level of their competences, understands sufficiently the need for observation, understands sufficiently the need to update their knowledge of human physiology
For the grade 4 (db): Student copes well with searching for information in the field of human physiology, also in English, searches for them in various available sources and synthesizes them at a good level, copes well with independent and targeted learning. The student is able to cooperate in a group, rarely takes the leadership position, is good at oral preparation and presentation; understands the need to raise the level of their competences well, understands the needs of observation well, understands the need to update their knowledge of human physiology
For the grade 5 (very good): The student very efficiently looks for information in the field of human physiology also in English, looks for information in various available sources and makes them at a very good level, he is very good at independent and targeted learning. The student is able to cooperate very well in a group, often adopts leadership positions, efficiently prepares and presents selected oral human physiology issues, understands the need to raise their level of competence very well, understands the need for observation very well, understands the need to update their knowledge at a high level in the field of human physiology
To take the exam, students must receive a positive assessment of the reports made as part of the exercises and pass the presentation of a selected problem in the field of pathological physiology.
