Preliminary Requirements

A student entering a "Cell Biology" course should have a foundational understanding of basic biology concepts, including cell structure, function, and the central dogma of molecular biology (DNA to RNA to protein). Additionally, they should be familiar with basic chemistry principles, such as the structure of atoms, chemical bonding, and the properties of water and organic molecules.

Learning outcomes

Subject-specific learning outcomes in terms of knowledge:

Subject Outcome 1: The student knows and understands the biological terminology related to the structure and biology of the cell and understands the basic biological phenomena and processes occurring within it.

Subject Outcome 2: The student knows and understands the stages of cell development and the research methods used in studying it.

Learning outcomes in terms of skills:

Subject Outcome 3: The student can apply basic research techniques and tools in biology, conduct observations, and perform physical, biological, and chemical measurements of the cell in the field or laboratory.

Subject-specific learning outcomes in terms of social competences:

Subject Outcome 4: The student is capable of critically evaluating their knowledge and received content. Based on the acquired knowledge, the student can solve cognitive and practical problems in the field of cell biology.
