Part I: Contact Hours (3 x 1.5h = 4.5 clock hours / 6 academic hours) Session 1 (1.5h): The Theologian's Digital Toolkit and the Inspired Text Theoretical topics: Introduction to the course. The role of IT in research and pastoral ministry. From the Gutenberg revolution and Fr. Busa's SJ Index Thomisticus project to digital databases. Professional biblical software (Logos Bible Software, Step Bible). Practical tasks (introduction): Advanced search in digital library archives (e.g., DigiVatLib). Methodology of working with interlinear text (Greek, Hebrew) and morphological filters. Reference to the presentation: Slides 1–6, 22–23. Session 2 (1.5h): Parish Administration, Cybersecurity, and GDPR Theoretical topics: Digitalization of the parish office. Computerized records and sacrament registries. Legal and moral aspects of personal data protection (GDPR / Church Data Protection Inspector – KIOD). Online threats (phishing, data leaks). Practical tasks (introduction): Simulation of work in a parish registry system, principles of secure cloud backup in pastoral ministry, implementing 2FA and encryption. Session 3 (1.5h): AI Ethics, Social Media, and Evangelization Theoretical topics: Anthropological aspects of artificial intelligence (Imago Dei vs. Imago Digitalis). Algorithmic ethics (Rome Call for AI Ethics). Digital ecclesiology: virtual community vs. real sacrament (the impossibility of online sacraments). The Church in the digital Areopagus (Web 2.0). Practical tasks (introduction): Prompt engineering as a research aid for theologians. Designing a digital communication strategy for a parish (Canva, moderation). Reference to the presentation: Slides 13–21, 24–25. Part II: E-learning Platform Workshops (9 academic hours) Students complete tasks asynchronously on the LMS platform (e.g., Moodle). Module E1 (3h): Digital Textual Criticism of Source Texts Task: Conducting an independent comparative analysis of a selected biblical pericope across three different translations using the Step Bible tool. Preparing a semantic report. Module E2 (3h): Security and Parish Office Audit Task: Case study – analysis of personal data security procedures in a fictional parish. Developing a security policy framework in accordance with KIOD guidelines. Module E3 (3h): Utilization of Generative AI in Pastoral Ministry and Research Task: Preparing and testing 3 prompts that facilitate the analysis of the literary structure of a patristic text. Critical fact-checking of the answers generated by the LLM model regarding potential "hallucinations" (non-existent citations/sources). Methods of Verifying Learning Outcomes: E-learning tasks (Modules E1, E2, E3) completed on the platform (50% of the final grade). Practical final project – development of a professional tool or strategy supporting pastoral or research work (50% of the final grade).
