- typical vocabulary used in liturgical texts (including Middle English forms),

Student:
- is able to understand longer utterances and lectures and follow even more complicated speech provided it covers familiar topic.
- reads and understands longer more complex texts concerning the problems of contemporary world, religion and spiritual life, in which certain viewpoints are presented.
- communicates quite fluently and spontaneously to maintain conversations with quite an ease.
- takes active part in discussions in the familiar topics also religious ones, expressing his opinions and defending his point of view.
- in writing, he creates clear, detailed texts on
a variety of subjects related to his field of interest including religious topics and spiritual life.
Assessment criteria
- tests after each grammatical or lexical unit,
- written summary of a longer text.
End-of-course examination has a written form and lasts 45 minutes. Students read a short chapter taken from cardinal Basil Hume's book 'To be a Pilgrim', then they write a summary. In this way the recognition of grammatical structures on B2-C1 level is checked as well as the understanding of thematic vocabulary connected with church, faith and spiritual life. This formula checks the ability to select the most important information in the text as well as production of a summary on B2 level.
