Course contents:
Vocabulary - at Upper Intermediate level - the ability of descriptive word explanation in English : personality, illness and treatment,clothes and fashion, crime and punishment, weather, feelings, the body, music, the media, towns and cities, business and advertising, religion.
Grammar : Conditionals I-III; future time clauses; past modals; "would rather", "had better" ; passive (all forms) ; structures after „wish”; “used to”, “be used to”, “get used to” constructions; relative clauses.
Communication in speech and writing: everyday life, sport, health, travels, weather, science and work.
Everyday speech comprehension - on the basis of short DVD films and audio CD; news.
Learning of basic prayers and fragments of liturgy; reading some extracts from the Holy Bible; Christmas carols singing.
Teaching methods:
the course consists of two 45 lessons, once a week.
Each meeting comprises:
-conversations
-reading and listening comprehension - Audio CD, DVD films
-oral and writing excercises, drills; short essays; "for and against" discussions .
Assessments methods:
-current evaluation
-grammar and vocabulary tests after each unit.
-short essays
-half-year test
