Course contents: The seminar is interactive. The lecturer animates discussions and presents research problems, inviting students to creative and multilateral solutions. The seminar includes a course in biblical methodology and its application to Mariological studies: historical-critical method, narrative analysis, rhetorical analysis, linguistic analysis (syntactics, semantics and pragmatics), canonical and sociolinguistic approaches, cultural anthropology, the phenomenon of intertextuality, etc. help seminar participants to develop their hermeneutic awareness and to undertake adequate research methods when writing their own dissertations.

CODE OF ACCESS TO THE COURSE ON MS Teams: jzaoybs
The lecturer animates the work of students who present their research achievements, which are then subjected to a multi-faceted discussion. All participants are encouraged to contribute to the discussion. On this occasion, the seminar leader explains various substantive and methodological issues that are to help students in conducting research and editing their dissertations.
After the seminar, the doctoral student:
- in terms of knowledge:
EK 1: Has an ordered and deepened knowledge of the methodology of biblical studies and knows the possibilities of its application to the Mariological reading of biblical and apocryphal texts (TD-W01; TD-W02).
- in terms of skills:
EK 2: Can search, analyze, evaluate and integrate information from various sources and formulate critical judgments on this basis (TD-U04; TD-U07).
- in the field of social competences:
EK 3: He is critical of his own scientific and research achievements. Has the ability to work in a group, taking various roles in it (TD-K03; TD-K05).
Description of ECTS:
Participation in classes: 12 hours.
Student's own work and consultations with the teacher: 18 hours.
Total: 30 hours = 1 ECTS.
Assessment criteria
Assessment methods: Final credit on the basis of active participation and timely fulfillment of assigned tasks, especially related to the stages of writing the dissertation.
EK nr 1 referred to as "has an ordered and in-depth knowledge of the methodology of biblical studies and knows the possibilities of its application to the Mariological reading of biblical and apocryphal texts".
For the assessment:
Ndst (2): does not know the basic concepts of biblical methodology or how to apply them to the Mariological interpretation of biblical and apocryphal texts.
Dst (3): knows sufficiently the basic concepts of biblical methodology and how to apply them to the Mariological reading of biblical and apocryphal texts.
B (4): knows well not only the basic but also more advanced assumptions of biblical methodology and knows well the theoretical principles of its application to the Mariological analysis of biblical and apocryphal texts.
Bdb (5): knows very well all the basic and advanced concepts of biblical methodology and knows very well the theoretical principles of their application to the Mariological analysis of biblical and apocryphal texts.
EK 2 is defined as "able to search, analyze, evaluate and integrate information from various sources and formulate critical judgments on this basis".
For the assessment:
Ddst (2): he cannot use the basic concepts of various biblical methods or apply them to the Mariological exegesis of the indicated biblical and apocryphal texts.
Dst (3): can use the concepts of biblical methodology in a basic way and apply them to source texts from the Bible and apocryphal literature.
B (4): can use various biblical methods in an independent Mariological interpretation of the pericopes of biblical and apocryphal literature.
Bdb (5): is able to use various biblical methods fluently and creatively for independent Mariological interpretation of biblical and apocryphal fragments.
EK nr 3 defined as "is critical of his own scientific and research achievements, has the ability to work in a group, assuming various roles in it"
For the assessment:
Ndst (2): He is not critical of his own scientific and research achievements and cannot cooperate in a group.
Dst (3): Has little ability to critically price one's own research achievements and is able to take some roles in group work.
Db (4): Shows a critical approach to his scientific achievements and formulated conclusions, is able to assume various roles in a research group.
Bdb (5): He can conduct a comprehensive critique of his own research achievements, he is very good at various functions in a research group.
