Dogmatic theology as an interdisciplinary science WT-FW-C
The problem of interdisciplinarity in dogmatics is today a serious challenge that all theology faces. Interdisciplinarity is not one of the possible options for dogmatics, but it is in fact a necessity. Thanks to it, dogmatics will be able to free itself from the isolation in which it sometimes persists. The postulate of interdisciplinarity is not alien to the genetic code of Christian dogma. Dogmas are complex ecclesial formulas with a clearly open character. Dogmatics must not isolate itself from other sciences. The very nature, purposefulness and structure of dogma open it and its understanding to non-theological domains of knowledge. The interdisciplinarity of dogmatics is not, therefore, an expression of some temporary fashion taken from the general theory of science. It results directly from the content and structure of dogmatic judgments.
