Course objectives: Communication is a fundamental dimension of culture and should be discussed in its context. In addition to basic knowledge of communication theory and media theory, the course focuses on the role of communication for creating, sustaining and changing culture, especially in its social, as well as sign, semiotic aspect. Communication theories will also be discussed in the context of the philosophy of dialogue and encounter, and in practical terms, as theory and practice of good communication.
The aim of the course is to teach the basic theories, concepts and models of communication, as well as the need for knowledge of cultural communication in the modern world (intercultural communication). During the course, students will learn about the history and methods of research on communication.
