Social pedagogy WSR-NRN-1-PS
Characteristics of social pedagogy as a sub-discipline of pedagogical sciences dealing with environmental determinants of educational and care processes. The aim of the subject is to familiarize students with the genesis, development, subject and tasks of social pedagogy and to show its contemporary contexts. Discussion of educational environments and their basic components. Indication of changes in the human socio-cultural environment and discussion of selected local and global challenges for individual categories of educational environments. The following issues were distinguished in the full description of the classes:
– Social pedagogy as a subdiscipline of pedagogical sciences.
– Genesis, development, subject and tasks of social pedagogy.
– Precursors of social pedagogy and the development and main representatives of this discipline in Poland.
– Explaining the meaning of key concepts in the field of social pedagogy.
– Basic educational environments.
– Changes in the human socio-cultural environment.

Learning outcomes
Student:
W1: Defines key concepts in the field of social pedagogy and lists its main representatives – K_W01; K_W11; K_W13.
W2: Knows the typology of educational environments as well as the problems and perspectives of social action towards the changing world – K_W07; K_W10.
U1: Analyzes social phenomena in terms of their impact on the upbringing of children and adolescents – K_U01; K_U02.
K1: Recognizes the need to take conscious and professional social activities in order to enrich the educational environment – K_K03.
Assessment criteria
Positive evaluation of the written work – 80%. Activity during classes – 20%.
