Selected bioethical issues WSR-NR-2-WZB
The lecture is a continuation of classes conducted under the title: basics of bioethics. This time, selected issues in the field of ethical (especially Catholic) assessment of biotechnological interference in the life of a human (direct or indirect) are raised, in particular when it is in the so-called in decline, that is, when he is sick, suffering and on his way to death.
It includes o answer to the question whether what is technologically possible is also ethically allowed when such issues as: the concept of death and dying, euthanasia, clinical death, coma, aging of humans and society, but also: food safety . responsibility for human health, etc.
The knowledge gained in this field should be used in work for the social good, secured primarily within such a community as the family, and more specifically in the process of social, democratic justification for the protection of its dignity and rights, understood in the spirit of the Catholic tradition.
This is to help in gaining adequate social competences. It includes o awareness of the need to have and constantly deepen ethical (normative) justifications as to the biotechnological and civil-legal interference in human life carried out in medicine or in other fields of social life.
