The course "Corporate Finance" is a comprehensive program designed for economics students and managers who wish to deepen their knowledge in managing finances within a dynamic business environment. The course combines theoretical foundations of finance with practical methods of analyzing financial statements, budgeting, risk assessment, and optimizing capital structure. The acquired knowledge enables rational investment and strategic decision-making, as well as efficient management of a company's resources.
During the course, the following lecture topics will be covered:
1. Introduction to Corporate Finance – Basic concepts and the role of finance in a business.
2. Financial Statement Analysis – Techniques for assessing the financial health of an enterprise.
3. Working Capital Management – Optimization of short-term assets and liabilities.
4. Budgeting and Financial Planning – Tools for financial planning and control.
5. Profitability and Operational Efficiency Analysis – Evaluation of a company’s performance.
6. Financial Risk Management – Identification and minimization of financial risks.
7. Capital Structure – Selection of financing sources.
8. Cost of Capital and Investment Valuation – Methods for estimating costs and project profitability.
9. Dividend Policy – Strategies for profit distribution and their impact on company value.
10. Mergers and Acquisitions – Financial and strategic aspects of business integration.
11. Corporate Valuation – Techniques for estimating a firm's market value.
12. External Financing and Capital Markets – Sources of capital and the functioning of financial markets.
