Sociological Aspects of Science and Technology WSE-BD-SANiT
The aim of the course is to critically analyze the development of information societies and the knowledge society based on it, with a particular focus on the attributes of the digital revolution and its social consequences. The subject of learning will be digital culture as an element of mass culture with its axiological challenges, reductions and threats. Sociological, political science and humanistic theories will be recalled, illustrating the condition of human personality and mentality in the era of parameterization of the effects of social activities. The problem of parameterization will be shown as a functional attribute of technical civilization and modern technologies. Ways of understanding and defining the functional aspects of technology and science in relation to the system of autotelic values as the values of the indigenous cultural identities of human communities will be recalled. For this purpose, the social history of science, technology and technology will be discussed in terms of the critical school (Frankfurt School), in terms of humanistic and personalistic sociology

a.) learning concepts that enable critical analysis of the history of science, technology and technical civilization as a social and cultural phenomenon,
b.) learning about the concept of information societies and the assumptions of the digital revolution,
c.) Recognizing the consequences of parametric reduction in defining goals and forms of social development
In the area of skills:
a.) the ability to define differences in paradigmatic assumptions of individual eras in the development of science and civilization,
b) the ability to understand the causes and effects of scientific and technological upheavals, with particular reference to the sphere of values and social attitudes
c.) the ability to indicate sources of inspiration in the critical analysis of technological progress processes
In the area of competence
a.) development of analytical and critical thinking competencies in the area of recognizing the attributes of technological and civilizational evolutions
b.) recognizing the competencies necessary in the organization of diagnostic and research work at various levels of organizational structures
