The aim of the course is for the student to acquire skills and competences in understanding and presenting issues related to the foreign service
The issues discussed during the classes are:
1) Constitutional framework for conducting the foreign policy of the Republic of Poland;
2) VCDR; VCCR
3) General principles of the functioning of the foreign service in the Republic of Poland
4) Organization and functioning of the foreign service of the Republic of Poland;
5) Managers of foreign branches;
6) Recruitment for the foreign service of the Republic of Poland;
7) Ministry of Foreign Affairs - tasks, organization, employment conditions;
8) Rights and obligations of members of the foreign service of the Republic of Poland;
9) Consuls and consular functions;
10) Proceedings before the consul;
11) Consular fees and expenses;
12) honorary consuls

EK 1: basic concepts in the field of the foreign service of the Republic of Poland
EK 2: the scope of the constitutional, international law and statutory framework for the functioning of the Polish foreign service
EK 3 principles, organization and functioning of the foreign service of the Republic of Poland
EK 4 Tasks, organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and conditions of recruitment to the foreign service of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
EK 5 functioning of the consular service in the Republic of Poland
ECTS workload:
participation in the seminar: 30 h
reading legal acts: 30 h
reading the assigned case law: 5 h
preparation for the exam: 25 h
Total hours: 90
Number of ECTS 90/30= 3 ECTS
Assessment criteria
The teaching method is a problem-oriented lecture combined with direct student activity, aimed at solving theoretical or practical problems in the functioning of the Polish foreign service.
Student:
The following grades are: does not have the skills and competences indicated in EU 1-5, EK 1-5;
To be assessed: has the skills and competences indicated in EU 1-5, EK 1-5 at a basic level
For the grade db: has the knowledge, skills and competences indicated in EU 1-5, EK 1-5;
Grade: very good: has the skills and competences indicated in EU 1-5, EK 1-5 to the full extent
