Course content:
1. Historical introduction: Traditions of Polish foreign policy; Establishing the borders of the Second Polish Republic and the Third Polish Republic; Historical view
2. Regaining sovereignty as a result of the end of the Cold War struggle; Poland on the way to NATO and the EU and joining these organizations.
3. Constitutional system principles
4. The constitutional framework of Polish foreign policy; The Council of Ministers and the President
5. The constitutional framework of Polish foreign policy; Sejm and Senate;
6. The constitutional framework of Polish foreign policy; Constitutional Tribunal and courts
7. Foreign service
8. Public diplomacy, economic diplomacy, cultural and historical diplomacy
9. The strategy of Polish foreign policy
10. Poland in the EU
11. Poland in the UN and the Council of Europe
12. V-4 and the Three Seas Initiative, Weimar Triangle
13. Bilateral relations: Polish-American.

After completing the modus, the student is able to:
EW_01 explain the basic terms and assumptions concerning Polish foreign policy and analyze them; present the most important elements of Polish foreign policy in historical terms and make a critical analysis of them
EW_02 define the goals, instruments and legal bases for conducting Polish foreign policy
EW_03 list, characterize and critically analyze the tasks within the scope of activities undertaken as part of Polish foreign policy; indicate the tasks of Polish foreign policy towards international organizations and in the field of multilateral and bilateral relations
EU-01 - can work in a team,
EU-02 is able to publicly present its assessment of Polish foreign policy (opportunities and threats)
EU-03- can prove the correctness of the theses in a dispute with other students
EK-01- can present selected thesis related to PPZ
EK-2- can critically evaluate a given thesis related to PPZ
EK-3 - can present the effects of the assumptions made within the PPZ

Assessment criteria
Method of lecture and discussion, solving scientific and practical problems in terms of the effects of knowledge, skills and competences.

multiple choice test.

unsatisfactory grade: the student is unable to EW 1-3;
pass grade: the student is able to EW 1-3;
good grade: the student can do a good EW 1-3;
very good grade: the student is fully capable of EW 1-3
Assessment criteria in terms of skills:
unsatisfactory grade: the student cannot know EU 1-3;
pass grade: the student is able to EU 1-3;
good grade: the student can do EU1-3 with a good degree;
very good grade: the student is able to fully EU 1-3
Assessment criteria in terms of competence:
unsatisfactory grade: the student is unable to EK 1-3;
pass grade: student is able to EK 1-3;
good grade: the student is able to good EK1-3;
very good grade: the student is fully capable of EK1-3
