Economic Policy WP-SM-PG
Essential Issues:
The Lecture refers to the actions that governments take in the economic field. It covers the systems for setting interest rates and government budget as well as the labour market, national ownership, and many other areas of government interventions into the economy. The Lecture presents also policies which are often influenced by international institutions as well as political beliefs and the consequent policies of parties.
1. Economic policy – basic elements, definition, main doctrines, knowledge of economic policy, economic policy subjects, types of economic policy, economic policy history
2. Economic systems, economic policy functions, public administration, public duties
3. Economic policy determinants, aims, means
4. National economy and its external relations, redistribution, regulation, anti-trust
5. Macroeconomic stabilization policy, money supply, inflation, fiscal policy, tax policy, government spending, mercantilism and other restrictive trade practices, policies associated with both national wealth and with foreign and colonial policy
6. Economic growth, trade policy, tariffs, trade agreements, international institutions
7. Monetary policy, interest rates, incomes policy, price controls, reserve requirements
8. Economic policy tools and goals, industrial policy
9. Economic policy in self-governmental units
10. Small business units promotion
11. Polish economic system transformation, modern economic policy
Valuation Methods:
1. The Rating refers to total Activity of the Student during the Lectures
2. The Lecture uses both elements: theoretical and practical
3. Reports, Case Studies, Activity are required
4. There is also a possibility to pass the Lecture with writing Test

Assessment criteria
Didactic methods for EK1, EK2, EK3, EK4 together, depending on the issue:
1. Problem lecture - devoted to discussing problems, including methods and the final solution of the problem.
2. Conversational lecture - lecture combined with direct activity of the students, aimed at solving theoretical or practical problems.
3. Project method - implementation of a cognitive or practical task by a group of students or individually. The teacher inspires students to create the project and controls its course.
4. Case study - detailed analysis of a specific case, events, drawing conclusions, making comparisons, generalizations.
5. Papers - papers prepared by students constitute an introduction and basis for discussion.
Method of verification of learning outcomes - active participation in classes, observation of behavior, continuous assessment, written exam
Assessment Criteria:
EK1 - has a basic knowledge of international relations and their relations to economic policy
On the grade 2 (ndst) - can not explain the basic institutions of international relations and characterize their relationship to economic policy
On the grade 3 (dst) - it sufficiently characterizes several institutions of international relations and sufficiently describes their relationship to economic policy
On grade 4 (db) - explains most of the basic institutions of international relations and their relation to economic policy in a good way
5 (very good) - explains all the institutions of international relations, compares them and describes them in a very good way to their economic policy and identifies tools to solve the problems
EK2 - has a basic knowledge of economic and economic subjects
economic relations relevant to international relations
On the grade 2 (ndst) - can not explain the basic institutions in the field of economic and economic subjects relevant to the direction of international relations
On grade 3 (dst) - it is sufficiently characterized by several institutions in the field of economic and economic subjects relevant to international relations
On the grade 4 (db) - explains the majority of basic institutions in the field of economic and economic subjects relevant to the direction of international relations in a good degree
5 (very good) - explains all institutions in the field of economic and economic subjects relevant to international relations, compares them, and also describes their relationship to economic policy to a very good degree and identifies tools to solve the problems raised
EK3 - has basic knowledge about man, especially about the principles of the functioning of the individual in the international space in economic terms
On grade 2 (ndst) - there is no basic knowledge about man, especially about the principles of functioning of the individual in the international space in economic terms
On the grade 3 (dst) - has basic knowledge about man, especially about the principles of the functioning of the individual in the international space in economic terms
On the grade 4 (db) - has good knowledge of man, especially the principles of the functioning of the individual in the international space in economic terms
Grade 5 (very good) - has a very good knowledge of human beings, especially the principles of the functioning of the individual in the international space in economic terms, and also identifies tools to solve the problems
EK4 - knows the general principles of creating and developing forms of individual entrepreneurship, in particular conducting business
economic in the national and international dimension using knowledge of economics, international economic relations and economic policy, to the extent appropriate for the direction of international relations
On the grade 2 (ndst) - can not explain the basic principles of creating and developing forms of individual entrepreneurship, in particular conducting business
economic in the national and international dimension using knowledge of economics, international economic relations and economic policy, to the extent appropriate for the direction of international relations
On grade 3 (dst) - it is sufficiently characterized by several principles of creating and developing forms of individual entrepreneurship, in particular conducting business

On grade 4 (db) - it explains to a good extent the majority of principles of creating and developing forms of individual entrepreneurship, in particular conducting business activity at the national and international level using knowledge of economics, international economic relations and economic policy, to the extent appropriate for relations international
5 (very good) - it explains very well all the rules for creating and developing forms of individual entrepreneurship, and in particular conducting business in the national and international dimension using knowledge of economics, international economic relations and economic policy, to the extent appropriate for the direction international relations
