US legal system WP-SM-MON-SprSZ(p)
During the lecture, students receive knowledge about the functioning of the three branches of state power (President, Congress, Supreme Court), their mutual relations (the rule of control and balance), as well as the details of the most important political processes (passing the law, electing the president), the scope of competences and proceedings in cases of abuse of power (impeachment). The student also receives knowledge in the field of court procedures and court judgments on selected social issues.
The student also receives knowledge about the functioning of the party system in the USA.

Assessment criteria
The student must attend classes (maximum 2 absences are allowed).
For each class, the student must have the paper version of the US Constitution with him.
The student must read the source materials selected by the tutor (e.g. Federalist Articles).
PASS
pass in the form of a test for MS Teams, - after the last classes included in the schedule. The student will receive 20-25 questions
