Area of Freedom, Security and Justice WP-PR-MON-AoF
The purpose of the lecture / seminar is to present the issues of the European Union's Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (AFSJ). During the seminar, students will be able to acquire and expand knowledge in the field of AFSJ.
During the classes students will get to know each other
1. historical development of cooperation between EU Member States in the field of justice and home affairs;
2. the current legal bases of the AFSJ and its institutional framework, as well as legal instruments used to achieve the objectives of the AFSJ.
3. Territorial scope of AFSJ.
4. Objective scope of AFSJ: border control and visa, asylum and immigration policy; police cooperation; judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters;
5. human rights and the AFSJ;

1. PR_W04 - the graduate knows and understands the structure, formation and operation of legal institutions, as well as the relations between these institutions in relation to the Area of freedom, security and justice in the EU;
2. PR_U05 - the graduate is able to combine the acquired theoretical knowledge in the field of EU law with the description, explanation or evaluation of contemporary and historical economic, cultural and social phenomena taking place in Poland and in the world

Assessment criteria
Classes take the form of a lecture and - partially - a seminar; are conducted with the use of multimedia (presentation).
