Learning outcomes
LO1: The student knows the basic concepts related to humanitarian aid and its underlying principles, and presents knowledge in this field in English, both orally and in writing, using appropriate English terminology.
LO2: The student presents in English, both orally and in writing, the international legal standards applicable in the field of humanitarian aid, taking into account their specific characteristics and content.
LO3: The student analyses international legal sources available in English that are applicable to humanitarian aid, draws conclusions on the basis of such analysis, and provides accurate summaries of these sources in English.
LO4: The student analyses current challenges related to humanitarian crises and humanitarian aid from the perspective of international law and presents well-founded conclusions in English, both orally and in writing.
Assessment criteria
To complete the seminar and obtain the final positive grade students are required to:
- prepare and deliver a presentation during the class (mandatory)
- pass the final test (10 closed- and open-ended questions, mandatory).
The final grade is the average of two grades (the test and the presentation).
Presentation topics are selected by the students in agreement with the seminar lecturer.
Attendance is mandatory (up to 3 absences are permitted).
