lectures 1-2: Myth and paidea: theme 1: New and old paidea; theme 2: hints from Platonic myths
lectures 3: The magic of thinking and the crisis of rationalism
lectures 4: Prisca theology
lecture 5-6: The soul and spirituality of man - myth, art, philosophy, science
lecture 7-8: The meeting of myth and philosophy: theme 1: The uselessness of knowledge: from philomite to philosopher; topic 2: the logic hidden in the myth;
IIn lectures no. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) classes are carried out in two modules: (1) lecture (45 min) and (2) "forum" model (45 min), which consists of the presentation of final projects of students from the series "Currentity of myths in upbringing and education" (20 min) and a discussion moderated by students (25 min). The proposed thematic modules (5) that make up the series of student final presentations "Currentity of myths in upbringing and education" inspired by the myths from Plato's "Dialogues" are as follows:
1. Post-truth culture in the light of the “cave” myth from The State
2. The culture of kindness in the light of the myth of the "ladder of beauty" from The Feast.
3. Emotional culture in the light of the myth "the soul as a two-horse team" from Phaedrus
4. Anti-culture in the light of the myth of "the soul as a conglomeration of three characters" from The State
5. Social culture in the light of the myth "Atlantis" from "Timajosa"

(M) The student should name and explain with the language of philosophy the problems of myth in relation to the issue of education. Has a philosophical (theoretical) understanding of man as the creator and subject of culture.
(U) The student is able to formulate in the language of philosophy problems related to the observed socio-cultural phenomena, including the cultural issues of mythologization of values and selected concepts (e.g. the problem of the soul and spirituality).
(K) The student is open to introducing theoretical philosophical problems into his professional practice, thanks to which he also gains greater awareness of culture and the relationships that build it.

Assessment criteria
final grade: depends on the number of points obtained by the student during the cycle of classes: maximum number of points. 20. Points are obtained for participation in class discussions (max. 5 points in a series of classes) and for one of the two forms of credit chosen by the student (a test or a project prepared in small research groups). For the form of credit chosen by the student, the student receives a maximum of 15 points. Both forms of crediting are to show the student's degree of assimilation of knowledge from lectures, textbook and reading (compulsory and additional). Multiple choice test. Implementation of the project: one of the 5 thematic modules to choose from (see the description of the above-mentioned modules) implemented during the classes of the cycle "Currentity of myths in upbringing and education". Groups of 5 work on each project. in 20 minutes PowerPoint presentations must be attended by all people involved in the project from a given research group. Moderation of the discussion on the presented content is also assessed. Therefore, there are 2 assessment paths:
1: participation in the discussion (max. 5 points):
For a grade of 3.0, the student must obtain 1 point; for the grade of 3.5-2 points; for the grade of 4.0 - 3 points; for the grade of 4.5 - 4 points; for the grade of 5.0 - 5 points.
2. to choose a test (maximum number of points: 15) or a project (maximum number of points: 15)
a) The test consists of 15 tasks. For a grade of 3.0, the student must obtain 7-8 points; for the grade of 3.5-9-10 points; for the grade of 4.0 - 11-12 points; for the grade of 4.5 - 13 points; for a grade of 5.0 - 14-15 points.
b/ project: maximum number of points: 15. Scoring is as follows:
-For substantive use of literature and lectures: 6 points.
- For the ability to combine the content of one Platonic myth with the content of literature and lectures: 3 points
-For the quality of the presentation (innovation, aesthetics, presentation method): 3 points,
-For moderating the discussion 3 points.
The evaluation of the presentation is as follows:
For a grade of 3.0, the student must obtain 7-8 points;
for the grade of 3.5-9-10 points;
for the grade of 4.0 - 11-12 points;
for the grade of 4.5 - 13 points;
for a grade of 5.0 - 14-15 points.
