Undergraduate seminar WNP-PE-SEM3-MB
The classes include two modules. The first module concerns key concepts for individual bachelor's theses. Students report on their development based on the collected literature on the subject (two presentations during classes). The second module concerns the content contained in individual chapters of the dissertation. Students present the content of the chapters of their bachelor's theses (these will be the first chapters written during the first semester). Difficulties occurring in the writing process (substantive and formal) reported by students are clarified on an ongoing basis.
Term 2023/24_Z:
In October-November this year. students, based on the collected literature on the subject, present issues related to the key concepts of their diploma essays (2 people in each class). These are the following concepts: child's social development, acceptance of one's own body and appearance, pornography addiction, generational trauma, dysfunctional family, school anxiety, talented youth in the mass education system, universal values, suicides and suicide attempts. |
Term 2023/24_L:
February-March-April students present the main content and argumentation of subsequent chapters (i.e. chapter 3) of their diploma thesis (1-2 people in each class). |

(W) The student presents knowledge in the field of: methodology of scientific work, general pedagogy, pedagogy of culture and resocialization.
(S) The student is able to perform a bibliographic query in the field of the selected topic of the diploma thesis. Can: analyze scientific literature; formulate a research question, put forward theses and justify them; use scientific language; build the structure of scientific work, prepare documentation.
(C) Demonstrates conscientiousness in conducting research on the diploma thesis. He sees the universal dimension of Christian values in pedagogical practice. Is aware of the ethical principles in scientific work.
Assessment criteria
- For a grade of 2.0 (unsatisfactory): the student is unable to use the terminology of general pedagogy and resocialization; does not know the methodology of scientific work; is not ready for the diploma seminars (to present issues related to the main concepts and content of individual chapters of the diploma thesis); does not provide the professor with subsequent chapters of the diploma thesis on time; does not cooperate with the professor (does not refer to comments made by the professor in the process of monitoring the writing of the thesis). He/She misses seminars.
- For a grade of 3.0 (satisfactory): the student has basic knowledge of general pedagogy and resocialization; is able to present appropriate bibliographic sources in the scope covered by the topic of the diploma thesis; knows methods of scientific work but he/she lacks systematicity in preparing for work at the diploma seminar, does not fully cooperate with the professor (he/she does not always respond to the comments made by the professor in the process of monitoring the writing of the thesis); he/she has low language skills and finds it very difficult to present issues related to the main concepts and content of individual chapters of his/her diploma thesis; provides the professor with subsequent chapters of the diploma thesis on time.
- For a grade of 3.5 (sufficient plus): the student has basic knowledge of general pedagogy and resocialization; is able to present appropriate bibliographic sources in the scope covered by the topic of the diploma thesis; knows methods of scientific work; he/she systematically demonstrates his/her preparation for work at the diploma seminar and presents the effects of his/her scientific research; collaborates with the professor and has satisfactory language skills; he/she finds it somewhat difficult to present issues related to the main concepts and content of individual chapters of the diploma thesis (lack of coherence and logic of the statement); provides the professor with subsequent chapters of the diploma thesis on time.
- For a grade of 4 (good): the student not only has knowledge in the field of general pedagogy and resocialization and is able to select bibliographic sources and knows the methods of scientific work but he/she uses these methods in the preparation of his/her diploma thesis, and critically analyzes the sources; demonstrates systematicity in preparing the diploma thesis; he/she willingly cooperates with the professor; he/she has good language skills and it is not difficult for him/her to present issues related to the main concepts and content of individual chapters of the diploma thesis (he/she maintains coherence and logic of the statement); he/she provides the professor with subsequent chapters of the diploma thesis on time.
- For a grade of 4.5 (good plus): the student not only has knowledge in the field of general pedagogy and resocialization and is able to select bibliographic sources and knows the methods of scientific work but creatively uses these methods in the preparation of his diploma thesis and critically analyzes the sources; he/she demonstrates systematicity in preparing the diploma thesis; has good language skills and willingly cooperates with the professor; it is not difficult for him/her to present issues related to the main concepts and content of individual chapters of the diploma thesis (he/she maintains coherence and logic of the statement); provides the professor with subsequent chapters of the diploma thesis on time.
- For a grade of 5 (very good): the student, meeting the criteria for obtaining a good plus grade, is also creative and independent in his/her research; efficiently synthesizes the results of scientific analysis; has very good language skills; not only does he/she skillfully present issues related to the main concepts and content of individual chapters of the diploma thesis, but he/she is open to discussion about his/her work and willingly cooperates with the professor.
