The course focuses on the objectives and challenges of digitization in education, analyzing new skills and competencies required in a rapidly changing educational environment. Students will explore theoretical and practical aspects of new literacies, including digital, media, and information literacy. The course covers the analysis of digital tools used in education, their impact on teaching and learning processes, and the ethical and social issues related to educational digitization. Additionally, the subject includes research perspectives on digitization in education and strategies for implementing modern technologies in the teaching process.

Upon completion of the course, the student:
Understands key concepts related to educational digitization and new literacies.
Recognizes the impact of digital tools on teaching and learning processes.
Has knowledge of the ethical and social consequences of educational digitization.
Knows strategies for implementing digital technologies in education.
Analyzes and evaluates the application of modern technologies in education.
Critically interprets data on the impact of digitization on educational processes.
Designs strategies for implementing new technologies in various educational contexts.
Uses digital tools to enhance teaching and learning processes.
Assessment criteria
A proficiency in reading English is required.
Each topic will first be introduced through a lecture and then discussed based on further readings. The final grade consists of:
Participation and attendance (maximum of 1 absence allowed) = up to 25 points.
Preparation of a paper (1500–2000 words) = up to 25 points.
Written exam (25 multiple-choice questions) at the end of the semester = up to 50 points.
The final grade is the sum of the attendance score, paper preparation points, and final exam points.
Final grading criteria:
90–100 pts. – grade 5
80–89 pts. – grade 4+
65–79 pts. – grade 4
50–65 pts. – grade 3+
40–49 pts. – grade 3
